According to TMZ, he fell into a coma for two weeks before succumbing to his injuries.

Born and raised on the south side of Atlanta, OG Maco began experimenting with music during high school. However, it was a tragic event – the shooting of a close friend – that catalyzed his deeper dive into the industry. He later co-founded OGG (Originality Gains Greatness), making waves with underground hits like “Road Running.”

In 2014, OG Maco’s career catapulted when he collaborated with fellow Atlanta artist Key! for the Give Em Hell EP. The breakout track “U Guessed It” exploded in popularity, driven by its minimalist punk-trap fusion and widespread circulation on Vine and social media. His sense of humor remained intact despite the ordeal, as he quipped, “My plastic surgeon says I can’t get any uglier, so fixing my face should be easy.” He continued releasing music for Quality Control even as he recovered.

Three years later, Maco faced another life-threatening health crisis when a routine skin treatment resulted in a bacterial infection. This condition temporarily slowed his musical output, but he made a return in 2022 with his single “Ops.”
